Water

temp 84 - 86, visibility about 6'

Locations

coves out and to the left of the launch, and windy points

Fish

bass & chain

Lures

wacky worm (weighted & unweighted), t-rig worm, jig, crankbaits, spinnerbait, shaky head worm, soft plastic jerk, swimbait

Depth

2' - 25'

Method

We fished the windy points & coves to the left of the launch. All of my fish came off of the shaky head worm and the jig, and my partner caught his off of the swimbait, crankbait, and shaky head. I lost 2 good ones off of the shaky head.

Comments

I didn't get a bite off of a crankbait, I threw the DT-10, Bandit 200 & 300 and deep diving Shad Rap.

Comments

It was cool this morning with air temps in the upper 50's when I left home before sun-up. It took about two hours to develope a pattern that was consistant. It looked like a thermocline was developing at 13'.

Hunting Run Lake

Weather

Partly cloudy 89 degrees light wind

Water

Clear 84.3-91.4 degrees

Locations

The lower 1/2 of the lake.

Fish

102 bass-none over 2#, 2 bluegill

Lures

Zoom finesse worm, lipless crankbait, 1/4 oz. spinnerbait, small deep diving crankbait, Carolina rigged 3X lizzard

Depth

2'-40'

Method

Wacky rigged and drop shot the finesse worm. Fished the weed edges where the steep drops were close to shore and some submerged log jams where I had gotten GPS waypoints when the water level was a lot lower. Also fished the deepest end of some points.

Comments

I had some skin samples taken last week to test of skin cancer (negative results), the places finally healed enough to stop bleeding so I could go fishing again. Only two boats on the lake when arrived and 6 when I left.

Place

Amelia Lake

Weather

sunny hot 92 degrees

Water

fairly clear and warm

Locations

whole lake

Fish

3 lmb

Lures

dropshot rig, senko, buzzbait, zara spook, frog

Depth

varied

Method

Hit some shallows early with topwater but no action. Got one fairly shallow on senko, then later switched to dropshot rig and got 1 in the standing timber. It wrapped around a tree but was small like all the bass I get in there and I got it unwrapped. I also got another small one on the dropshot on some underwater structure I found.

Comments

Overall, the dropshot has been my most consistent lure there, sometimes the senko. Can't get a frog bite there. Get them occassionally on a spinnerbait. Can't seem to catch any size at this lake though.

sunny 93 degrees

Water

mostly clear

Locations

most of lake

Fish

4 largemouth bass

Lures

Zara Spook, senko, drop shot worm

Depth

shallow shade and rest about 3-5 foot depth

Method

Worked some topwater early. No bites on frog in weeds. Got one small bass on small zara spook under a shaded tree. Got 2 small bass on senko in basically open boring water. Saw a nice bass next to boat but no luck with that one. Got my last and best one on a drop shot worm in about 3-4 foot of water. Was about 15 inches. Nothing at the deep water timber.

Comments

Thought they would be in shallow weeds or deeper channel trees but nothing. Most fish were in relatively open water just cruising around and feeding on bugs on the surface. The water in spots was the clearest I've seen it. I found some underwater XMas trees and a ladder/picnic table/possible old roadbed? in another spot. Something to try out next time I guess. Left around noon when it started to get ugly. Decent day I guess.
