WOW! Sorry to cause such a ruckess with my last report.I have put in hours upon years on the river to be able to gaurantee citations. If you do not like catfishing then so be it.But the show must go on. I went out last night and boated six Blue Cats ranging from 29 to 56 pounds.I love to see the look on someones face when they get ahold of a fifty plus! The fishing is getting better, and July is going to red hot for the bigguns. If you are interested in booking a trip, call me and I will put you on the Fattest Cats you've ever seen!! I guided my first post spawn Blue Cat trip this year.Night fishing is the ticket!! A slow night by my standards. We boated a 38,52and a 55lber.Several rod benders came unhooked.I am getting ready to do battle with some huge Blue Cats.At least one 50lb.plus cat a night is the norm.for me.If you are interested in taking a trip call me. I have been fishing this river for over a decade and I GUARANTEE citations!!!! Chris Eberwien (804)449-6134

The #'s are somewhat low but very good quality around the Rt 10 bridge and nearby grasslines. If you see a duck blind anywhere on the river...FISH IT!. Curl tail worms, pink floaters and Bandit 100 series crankbaits are working. Best 5 about 13lbs.

Had some shocking results from the tues. night tournament from hopewell. The tide was incomeing and the fishing was terrible. 2 limits weighed(no size limit),1st place 4lbs. 2nd. and third was 3lbs. We had 3 fish that weighed 2lbs (if only one more kicker?). Fish will bite on the outgoing or on lower water though.

Went out Saturday 6/5 eveyone was saying the fish were slow. I ran around trying to learn my way on the Appomatax. Didn't catch any, had been slaying them on a crankbait and caught some on senko's from the first of May through the eighteenth, then on tournament day I blanked. The crankbait had turned off. Went out yesterday took the wife and ran from Appomatax Small Boat Harbor up to Dutch Gap. Only fished about an hour but caught two 2 to 2.5lbs and lost another all on the crankbait. I thought that they may have slowed for the summer, but the crankbait is still kicking, just slam it off of cover, rocks, trees, barges etc. don't be scared.
