Tried for some stripers in the warm waters around the power plant. Not a bite. Went to the Barge Pit just to lose some tackle. That was it, tide was coming in, gave up around noon since my partner could only do a half day.

Kids wanted to try their new Christamas poles and Baits. Got off early and took the boat down to Whitebank ramp. Minnows fished with bobbers. One bite Either a small bass or cat, kids couldn't decide when to swing. I took the rod and swang hard; but to little to late. We Bankoed that one; we did get the minnow back although he had seen better days. Got dark, ran back close to the ramp and slipped on the c-rig and minnow for 30-40 mins. Oh well. Tryed my favorite plastics in between showing the kids how and what to do- NOT A BITE!

A big thanks to Jeff for taking me out today and showing me the ropes of the barge pit. I figured I was in for a looong day when Jeff caught one within his first 4-5 casts. We caught pretty much everything within the first hour. All in all we had 5 fish. Jeff had a couple that looked like they were in the 2lb range, a pounder, and a dink. I had one that mighta gone over 12", I really didn't get that good of a look at it since I was in shock of catching a fish. All in all, it turned out to be a pretty afternoon and I learned a few things. Thanks again Jeff.

No dice. No strikes, nothin. Musta bumped every bit of structure in the daggone pits, CRAWLED IT over everything I could find. No strikes :( I did have a fish follow the lure up to the boat and spook when I reeled it out of the water. I think we scared each other.

Comments

Fished with Russell Holmes today. He is a super nice guy. I caught 2 LMB no real size and Russell got shut out unfortunately. Wind was really, really bad, I had around 10 - 12 pick ups and I think Russell had 6 or 7 but with the wind by them time you knew you had a hit and swung on them they were already dropping the bait. Oh well beats shopping right Russell ;)

Well I went out today to cast net some shad and catfish since last week the shad were thick. Not to be today. Yeah that was me on the Skiff throwing a cast net for two hours with zero luck. No bait, no fishing. Packed it in after a couple of hours and headed home.

3 LMB and 2 crappie

Lures

Ringworms and creature baits in blue colors

Depth

0-7 feet

Comments

Not a bad day for December, caught 3 LMB biggest right around 3#. Also had several pick ups that I missed because it was hard to tell they were there with the wind and by the time you felt them it was too late. Also lost one total hog that had to be in the 6 to 7 range.
