Spent a week at Lake Anna on family vacation. Tough bass lake! Went out alone for a day (Wednesday) and tried 7" worms and pig n' jigs and senko's around the coves and points in the Stubbs Bridge area with nothing except for some catfish. Also tried some topwater in the mornings around the same areas with just a few blow-ups and no hook-ups. Stripers were busting shad in the AMs and I did catch a 23 & 24"er on a 5" pearl wild-eye. I also hooked into a drag screamer that I couldn't slow down and after a short battle it pulled the hook.
On Sunday morning I was sitting on the dock drinking coffee and saw a school (10-12 fish) of nice bass cruising around our shoreline. I pitched a green-pumpkin senko and instantly hooked a 3lber. Strange thing was when I was reeling in the bass, the whole school was following and smacking at the senko that slid up the line. One of the bass was easily 6lbs and all of them were 3+. I quickly released the bass and tried to find the school again but to no avail. Has anyone seen bass school up like this before? They were definitely in feeding mode and right up against the bank. Very cool to see!
Next time I go back to Lake Anna, I am going to target stripers.
Good Luck

Had 9 good fish. Best was right at 5.5 lbs. Best 5 total was easy 15 lbs. Lost the best fish of the day right at the boat. I didn't realize how big she was and she spit my trap right back at me. Huge fish, I know she would have gone 10 lbs or better. All of the fish had their color so they had been up for at least a week or more. Both baits were fished extremely fast. They would only hit when it was ripping by them. Tried slow rolling on no takers. Noticed a lot of fish suspended in 10 to 15 foot range.
