Enjoyed a very hot & humid day of fishing Big D. Started around 3:30pm and finished around 8:30pm. Bass 1lb on spinnerbait , 2lb on 9-12' crankbait, 3lb on Pop-R. 8.5lb Gar on spinnerbait, 2lb Pickeral on Carolina rigged lizard. The Bass are holding real deep until sunset and then seem to be hitting on top. The 3lb'er on the Pop-R knocked the snot out of it! Saw many thick schools of baitfish at the surface. Perhaps a fluke will work around these? We'll see next trip.
Keep 'em wet!

We got on the water about 5:45. I loaded up my truck & boat the night before and forgot to put in 2 of the batteries. We had 4 motors but only 2 batteries so we started fishing to the right and hit the 3 coves. We caught 11 bass, the largest was 2.5 lb and 7 chain. The fish came off of senko, rapala, swim bait and worm. After we came out of the 3rd cove we tried the rip rap by the road and caught 1 more bass and a couple more hits then we called it a day. We were both tired from being out all day Friday and hanging out Friday night. We were off of the water before 1.
