We put in and went up river to the thick lilly pads and started throwing chatterbait, grass frog, johnson silver minnow & rapala minnow against the edge of the pads and in the pads. we worked down to the railroad tressel and caught crappie in the deep hole (18') around there and then worked our way to the dam, where the bass were coming off of wood & lilly pads. We caught over 30 bass, 15 chain, 20 + crappies and about 10 bream
We had 6 bass over 3 lbs and 2 chain at 22". I only been here about 6 times but this was the best day I had bass fishing there

Chickahominy
sunny 85 degrees, light wind
warm, maybe 80 degrees, kind of stained or muddy
launched at Ed Allens and worked towards Eagles landing in the lake
12 bass
Buzzbait, senkos, frog, spinnerbait
2-5 foot
Hit the pads with all 4 lures and got no action, switched to a boring looking side and got 6 bass in an hour on the buzzbait (730-830am). All of those fish were in the shade in shallow water. Got the other 6 from 9am-noon. Got 3 on a senko and 3 on a buzzer again either on laydowns and/or in the shade. First bass was 3.7 lbs, next was 3.0 lbs and then a bunch of 2lbers. Would of had about a 13 lb 5 fish bag. Was a good day overall. Took no pictures, wanted to get fish back in water right away, water was real warm and did not want to stress fish.
Looking forward to doing some camping with the family there sometime this summer. Like this lake, little far of a drive but it has been good to me last year and this year.
