Fished on Kerr for the first time on Friday and Saturday. Didnt kill them but we put a limit in the boat each day. Fish ranged from 10in to 3.5 lbs. Fished bluestone on Friday and Grassy on Saturday. Used firetiger and chartruse crankbaits on clay banks with depth in front of them. It was a very interesting experience and cant wait to come back. Thinking about coming back during Thanksgiving. Any input on that time of the year for Kerr. Oh yeah by the way I would like to put in a request for some weeds please! Boy was it diferent then the lakes in NY.

Comments

Figured I would dedicate one day to catching slabs. Fished for slabs form 8 - 3:30. Bite was moderate. Couldn't stand it and had to spend 45 min trying for bass after I got word they were hitting pretty good. Caught the one pretty quick. Should have been fished for them all day :( Will be back Friday....BASS ONLY!!! :)

Place

Buggs Island (Kerr Lake)

Weather

Sunny 35-55 degrees

Water

slight stain 46-53 degrees

Locations

Upper end of Grassy Creek

Fish

Three bass for #8.24

Lures

Bandit 200, mistake color with white/chart. dressed Owner treble for back hook.

Depth

3'-6'

Method

Found a lot on bridge rip-rap on Friday but they were gone on Sat.-so much for practice day. The second points in coves off the main channel was the pattern I found as was verfied by just about everyone fishing in my club tournament as well as using a crankbait or spinnerbait.

Comments

My bass club uses a 4 bass limit and only two limits were brought in. First place was just over #11 with 4 and third was about #6 1/2 with 4. I got second place with my 3 bass. I was the only one that fished Grassy as most of the others fished the main lake,Bluestone and Buffalo.
