Comments

Made the 80 mile trip to check the water level and amount of ice. NO ICE and normal water level. The drawdown as done the past two years did not happen. Talked to the game warden and he said that the drawdown did not affect the grass as they thought it would so it was not done. Took along a rod just in case, should have taken my boat-wont't happen again. One trailer at the 701 ramp and three at the dam. Talked to a guy fishing from the shore and he had caught one and has been to the lake just about every week this winter and said the ice has never gotten real thick or covered the whole lake.

Fished with Don Arbaugh today. We knew we would not kill them because it was so cold but thought we might pick up one or two if the South end of the lake was a little warmer so we headed that way. Water temperature never really left 43.5 degrees except in the Little Briery Creek Cove, that one was 45 and the temp. change did have a bunch of shad back in there going nuts. Just no bass would take. Think the cold front that came in with this winter storm coming in tonight shut them down hard. Did have a few pick ups on the main lake fishing the Briery Creek channel but the wind made it near impossible to hook them with how slow you have to fish this time of year.
