Fishing has been tough. The ponds are very low and I have only been averaging about 1 fish per hour. Today was the same. I did see some deer tracks around the golf course ponds. Hmmmmm

Comments

Great night to be on the lake. No other trucks or trailers at launch ramp had the whole lake to myself. Very cool and foggy I love "that thar" GPS. As you can probly tell I LOVE TO NIGHT FISH. If you want a Bass of a lifetime Try Night Bassin It is a whole other world. The fish are not as spookey. You have to learn to fish a whole different way sometimes you can burn a crank or spinnerbait but most nights it is S---L---O---W and then slow down some more. You can use heavy line. All in all a great way to fish

Got out Saturday morning....I started the day off crappie fishing with jigs in the barge pit. I got more than a few short strikes but couldn't hook any of them. Either they were nipping the tail or had to be tiny tiny fish b/c I was using a 1/8 oz jig. Moved out to the main river and went up to fish jetties around 895. I found some really nice looking jetties that went from 4 feet to 20 feet in a matter of a few feet....but naturally couldn't score a bite. I tried spinners, ringworms, and a rattle trap. I had one strike on the spinnerbait where I saw the fish take a swipe at it but I didn't set the hook on it. Finally called it a day when I snagged a daggone bluegill through it's throat....pitiful when that's the only way you can catch a fish!

Method

Comments

Caught my 1st decent fish of the year, 18.5 inches and 3.5lbs on a spinnerbait. Got that one near the shore line but creek channel was nearby. Was BARELY hooked. Before that I missed one close to shore on the spinnerbait but he missed it. The 3rd bass of the day hit the spinnerbait near the boat, think it came from a log, did not get good hook set and lost her near the boat, did not play this one well. Was a quality fish though. Later I missed a smaller fish on a frog in the pads. 1st time to this lake, I liked it, looking forward to hitting all these new to me lakes in the fall and spring.
