Fished the barge pits today on outgoing tide. Caught 8 and lost a few more. All but one on the finesse worm and the other was on a spinnerbait. Went into Meades for about 20 min. Hooked one in there but I never got it to the boat.

Water temp had dropped 10 degrees since Waynes report from Saturday. Water was real muddy and the air temp seemed like it never left the 40's. Caught 1 pickeral on a spinnerbait. Hopefully the warm weather this weekend will get them biting again.

I knew it was going to be a tough day with all the recent rains, and a 20+ degree air temp drop, but ya gotta go when the opportunities are there. The water looked like Yoohoo. I was happy to even catch the one I did manage.

Had a great day yesterday with the katmasters crew. All in all I guess there were 9-10 boats. Not a formal tournament, just a get together. The day started out great with a smooth river and warm tempratures. Bill & I had 6 fish in the first 2 hours, with the biggest being my new personal best, a 19 pounder. The rest were 8 pounders and one 5 pounder. Around 11am the wind started picking up and actually grew stronger throughout the day. When we were down around Presquille the wind had to be a sustained 15mph with gusts over that. Other fish caught included a 34 pounder, a 42 pounder, and I think someone had one in the 50's. Definitely a cool diversion from bass fishing and I appreciated Bill taking me out and showing me the ropes. Just one caveat....if ya'll ever buy a "Fishing the Dutch Gap Area" DVD on catfishing and see a guy taking a leak in the background of your video.....well, now you know Bill a little bit better than you did before.

Fished just like it was prespawn in the shallow areas next to the creek channels. That is where the warmest water was and the most active fish. I worked the lures over the persistent heavy grass and around stumps.
Several boats within site but no one came within 1/4 mile of me and missed out on the active shallow bass. I saw several fishermen working jigs in 20'+ depths and a couple I talked to did not catch any. The recent rains and mild temps. really warmed up the upper end. Mid lake was 49 degrees or less. The water level had dropped to close to normal.

Water really turned muddy since the rain. The only place where it wasnt really muddy was the back of Meades and the back of the barge pits. Caught one fish maybe a pound in a brush pile in the barge pits. The water was incoming the whole time and when I went back into meades before I left the mud line had gotten all the way to the back.

Found the fish with electronics and cast and verticle jigged for them. Caught 5 of the bass on the finesse worm in a brush pile in 21' depth.
The lake was at least 2 feet above normal, level with the launch dock and real muddy except some areas within sight of the ramp. Only caught the fish in the cleaner water. Only one other boat there.
