Briery Creek
Overcast, windy, low 70's - low 80's
Stained - 80's
Upper end creek channels
24 Large Mouth - largest 4-4
Yamato Cut tail, Trick Works, Super Fluke, 10in Worm, Spinner Bait
4-20
T-rigged cut tail (no wt), T-rigged Fluke and 10in worm - wtd, wacky rigged the trick worms.
Really windy after 9 am and I was so frustrated that I left earlier than I had planned. Started at one end of the creek channel and worked the cover closest to it all the way down trying to hit as many pieces as I could. After the wind started I had to anchor quite often and work an area really good before I moved on. Trick worm caught the most unti the wind got up and I just hate fishing light baits in high wind so I switch to heavier baits. Caught the 4lbr on the spinner .... scared the heck out of me ..... sped up the retrieve to recast and it hit about 5ft from the boat almost on top of the water! I seriously almost dropped my rod.

Briery Creek
Clear mid 80's
Stained 82.4-86.8 degrees
Upper end and mid lake
69 bass and 2 pickerel. Largest bass was 7-3
Trick and finesse worms, Super Fluke
6'-24'
Weedless wacky rigged the worms and used a weighted wide gap hook with the Fluke. Fished the creek channel edges uplake and outside weed edges mid lake.
Finally saw some limited schooling late in the day at mid lake and caught 21 bass in one area with the Fluke and Trick worm by fan casting near where they were chasing shad on the surface. Caught about a dozen out of trees lying on the bottom just off the weed edges including the largest and a couple in the #5 class and a couple in the #4 class. Most of the bass in the school were between #2 and #3. My thumb is torn up, feels good though.

Briery Creek
Mostly sunny 85-90 degrees
Slight stain 89.8 degrees
Mid lake grass edges and uplake creek channel edges.
29 bass none over #3
I tried 10 different baits and only the weedless wacky rigged Trick and finesse worms produced.
4'-25'
As usual I caught them by throwing to the creek channel edges where the weeds are just about at the surface off the channel edge. Most were next to wood, either a bush, tree or stump. At mid lake they were on the deep edge of the weeds.
I was expecting to see some bass chasing shad on the surface in the afternoon, but it hasn't happened yet like last year. I guess the water hasn't been hot enough long enough.

Harrison Lake
Clear skies
warm
Used the white trick worm exclusively again today...lake was completely covered in fog when I arrived.....it was a pretty sight. Only ended up with 4 fish today, 3 bass and a warmouth....no size, just solid chunky 1 pound fish. Fished from the kayak again...it's hard to do the "style" of fishing that is most productive for me from the kayak.....I like to go out into the middle of the lake and chuck the worm as far as I can, working it over weed beds....hard to get the long casts from the kayak.

Briery Creek
Sunny and hot - 90's
84 when I got there, 86 when I left
south end creek channels
24 lmb - few 3lb and 4lb+ ... lots of 1-2 lb
small minnows, Yamato 5in cut tail, Zoom Trick and finesse worms, Lucky Craft Sammie, T-rigged Fluke
5-20
Fished the creek channel edges in deeper water ..... hit every piece of cover I could from multiple side. Tried to focus on any change in water depth with cover. Trailered small minnows behind me when I was in open water.
First time fishing with the Yamato Cut Tail worm .... I must say .... I really like it. Caught most of my fish on this bait. T-rigged w/ 3/0 WG hook and no weight. 11 caught w/ this lure. Caught 1 on the Sammie. 3 on Finesse Worms (wacky rigged) Brought about 1 1/2 dozen small minnows with me that were left over from taking my daughter fishing at a pond 3 days earlier. Must have looked like finger food to the bass here but they were on the brink of death and it was use em or lose em. Caught 9 fish on the minnows ..... Nice to see Wayne Purdam out on the water and have the oppotunity to speak with him. It was a hot day and I hope you got that Cold Ice Cream shake Wayne. I had to settle for a frosty from Wendy's but it sure hit the spot.

The Goochland Pond Property
Sunny, VERY HOT
clear
Walked around a tenth of the pond
A few LMB and Warmouth
What else? Beetle spin in white, worms.
Went out to Goochland to do some four wheeling, fishing and shooting a new handgun that I got. Man was it a HOT day. Fishing wise I was surprised. It was very hot and sunny but the fish were actively feeding. Even jumping out of the water hitting frogs and dragon flies. The fishing was good. The edges of the pond out to about 20 feet were covered in a coating of bright green stuff that looked to be small seeds. The LMB were definately under this cover and feeding on what ever fell into or landed on it. Did some hard core four wheeling until my sis said she was gonna $%&* her pants if I didnt let her out. Strangely I had a semi-auto 9mm jam closed on a live round. I have never seen that before. I took it to Green Top. They said they have only seen that once before and never on a high end gun like this one. They took it to the "firing" trailer they have in the back and gave it a whack of the palm and it fired. Problem solved. Reloads caused it I guess.
