Another tough day in the world of BFL. 4 t's this year and I have yet to catch a 14 inch fish. That's right zero points, should have just burned the entry fees. Boater had 1 for 2 lbs. We caught a bunch of short fish. If headed to the lake think shallow, the fish are not deep yet. Don't know why. Those that fished deep caught fish just not enough weight to win. Winning Boater had 17 and co had 15 all shallow. Tightlines

Ancarrows is not known for big blues but did manage some nice fat 10-15lb fish. Got a nice sunburn too.

A great day on the pond fishing with Bill. We lost track of the # of bass we caught within the 1st hour of fishing. All were in the 1 to 2lb range but provided some "brick wall" strikes....ie it was like your lure ran into a brick wall. The fish were HUNGRY. If I had to guess I'd estimate we caught between 25 to 30 bass, I really don't remember. Around 5pm or so, the fish just out-right quit biting which was pretty weird. The only thing Bill & I could conclude is that the cloud-cover changed from clear & breezy to less wind and fairly cloudy....even though the temprature didn't change, maybe there was a change in the atmospheric pressure? From 5 til quitting time we caught less than 5 fish. I couldn't even get a hit on a fly rod, which should tell ya something. All in all it was a great day and I appreciate Bill taking me along.

Took my step son out for a few hours today. He had been watching either Bill or Roland tear 'em up on spinners and cranks, so he wanted to try what he had learned. Unfourtunatly, it didn't work for him. After I put the second in the boat he decided it may be best to follow my lead. I tied one on for him, and WHAM he got nailed on the second cast, but he didn't set the hook. He did the same over and over again. He had two get off at the boat. All of mine were right around 12".

Comments

Tried spinnerbaiting and worming but did not produce. A Rapala crankbait was the only thing they seemed to want. Caught three nice LMB and missed a couple that came off at the boat. I saw a few swimming around that had a nice size on them, but they wouldn't even look at my bait. Two of the bigger ones I caught came off of the main lake.
