Sunny
Bass
plastics and crankbaits
2-10ft
Fished the bfl as a co-angler. Ended up with 7-08 and finished fifth. Caught most of my fish on plastics. and didn't seem to matter what color as long as you put it where they wanted it. Fished the out going tide most of the day. We down to a creek early that morning could only manage one keeper in there . And then ran back up to richmond and finished out my limit. The key was to fish wood and grass in the creeks and wood and rock up by the james. and to keep your lines wet.

Tues.nite tourny. We caught only 3 small bass ,no keepers. One was caught on a finesse worm,2 on a pumpkin colored 3" grub.Very tough bite, harder to get bit than any other time prior to this tourny for me.We fished hard and came up short, literally. It just wasnt happening.I prefer the lower stages of the tides.Didnt get that lower water.

Prince Edwards & Goodwin Lake
cloudy, humid, wind 10-20
85 degrees, visibility 3'
We fished the entire lake (both), shallow to deep. They're about 45 acres each.
78 bass, 17 bream & 1 catfish
soft plastic stick baits, & crankbaits
1' to 12'
Both lakes are small so we started out fishing the shallows all the way around then the drop offs & channels.
My partner had not been fishing in a while so i took him to a place where I know you could catch fish, but I didn't expect us to do this good. It has been at least 7 or 8 years since I've been here. It is a good place to take a kid (or a grownup who doesn't fish that much) bass fishing. I hope I didn't jinx both lakes with that last statement.

Senko (wacky worm & T-Rig)(13 bass), topwater, spinnerbait, crankbaits
4' - 14'
I was throwing senko off of the points and letting them drop to the top of the grass (which could have been from 3 feet down to 12 feet, it varies) and work it back to the boat. Also, when a school of small bream would appear I would throw the senko past them then let it settle underneath the bream and work it back to the boat. I tried spinnerbait and crankbaits over the grass but only got one bite all day.

uplake in cheek channels
87 bass, none over 3 lbs.
buzzbait, Fluke, finesse worm, trick worm, Rat-L-Trap
surface to 16'
Concentrated on the creek channel drops near the intersection of Little Briery and Briery Creek. There were a couple of areas where the bass were chasing shad. Those readily hit the Rat-L-Trap and Fluke. The weedless wacky rig was the most productive.
The muddy water coming into the lake must have concentrated the bass at the edge of the muddy/clear water. With the success I was having, I was going to stay until I caught 100 bass, but a storm arrived about 4:30 and I got off the lake. Ran into a torrential downpour about a mile from the lake.

I know this is Va fish reports just wanted to list another tough T. BASS there for the weekend series. Not the place to be in July. Boat traffic, worse than Anna or Chesdin this time of year. Could have walked across the lake on the jet skies and never got wet. Again caught fish (12) just not legal size, so take a zero and fell hard in the points. Now sitting 49th with one event left. Will be hard to make top 30 at the next event on Kerr in August to make Regional (Potomac) Well drew boater that had prefished for 3 days and not boated a fish so I knew I was in trouble, but was able to adapt to catch fish. 2 of the 12 were 13.5 inches and about 3lbs, looked like footballs, just couldn't make them touch the line. That is why they call it fishing I guess. Tightlines

Around Seven Springs
Pike
C-rigged fluke and a drop shot fluke
5-10'
Fished around weeds between seven springs and the spillway. Caught what I thought to be a monster bass on a c-rigged fluke but turned out to be a nice pike. Missed a good bass on a white horny toad near some weeds also. Then started drop shotting some deeper water and caught what I thought was another nice bass and pulled up another good size pike...

10 bass (5 in the slot)
Big O (2), Bandit 100 (2), Bandit 200 (2), shaky head worm (2), wacky worm (2)
shallow to 15'
The fish that came off of the wacky worm & the Big O were in shallow water to 4', casting at the edge ot the grass (shore) line, I also lost 5 worms (bites); the fish that came off of the Bandit were off of points or drop off in the coves up lake, I had a nice fish (bass, cat, walleye, ?) off of the Bomber but I only had it on for about 5 - 6 seconds and it came loose; and I caught 2 off of the shaky head in the bend heading to the timber. I also had a couple of bites off of the shakey head but missed them.
